1MW propulsor motor and its power controller ready for testing

The 1MW propulsor motor and its power controller developed in Nottingham for PROJECT NEWBORN are now ready for testing! The motor – first edition, is using Litz wire and has a power density of 10kW/kg, and the power converter 18kW/kg.

The motor drive system will be tested in 500kW and 2MW dyno at Power Electronics, Machines and Control Research Institute in Nottingham in due course!!
