The very productive General Assembly of the PROJECT NEWBORN held from April 8 to 10, 2025, brought together the project partners to discuss the results of the component tests and to prepare the detailed plan for the upcoming exciting phase of testing the integrated subsystems!
Now, we plan to test the air supply and thermal management subsystems of Honeywell, and the anode recirculation loop of TEST-FUCHS. Then, we will integrate them into the fuel cell power source together with the innovative fuel cell stack from PowerCell Group.
In parallel, the tests of the 1 MW electric motor and inverter of University of Nottingham are starting, and will be followed by an integrated test of the whole high-voltage and high-power electric chain, including distribution and conversion components from Fraunhofer IISB.
Pipistrel Vertical Solutions is preparing the facility where the fuel cell power source will be connected with batteries from Pipistrel Vertical Solutions, electric propulsion, and the hydrogen storage and supply system for the exciting ground demonstration of the integrated PROJECT NEWBORN fuel cell-based propulsion system.
Our heartfelt gratitude goes to Tao Yang and Grace Guan for their outstanding organization of the General Assembly in such an inspiring location. Their efforts facilitated meaningful interactions among project contributors, propelling our initiatives forward in an efficient and productive manner.
